16-bit High-Precision Hall Magnetic Encoder IC – KTH7812
Product Introduction
01
Outstanding Core Performance with Superior Precision and Fast Response
02
Three Primary Output Modes Support Wide-Range Applications
1.SPI Digital Communication (Mode 3: CPOL=1, CPHA=1)
4-wire SPI interface (CS/SCLK/MOSI/MISO) enables real-time reading of 16-bit absolute angle; no homing required after power-up.
An optional version with 4-bit CRC check is available to enhance anti-interference capability during data transmission.
It supports register read/write, zero-point calibration, rotation direction configuration and customized magnetic field threshold setting.
Embedded MTP (Multiple-Time Programmable) memory retains parameters after power loss, supporting up to 1000 programming cycles.
Register lock function is provided. Write access can be blocked after configuration to avoid accidental parameter modification.
2.Programmable ABZ Quadrature Pulse Output
Flexible resolution configuration via PPT register (0~1023), supporting up to 1024 pulses per revolution (4096 counts per revolution). Customizable resolutions such as 50-line, 256-line, 750-line and 1000-line are also available.
3.Programmable UVW Three-Phase Commutation Output for 1~8 Pole Pairs
Specially designed for BLDC motors. The NPP register allows configuration of 1 to 8 pole pairs, corresponding to 6~48 commutation states per revolution. It perfectly meets the commutation requirements of various servo motors, stepper motors and BLDC motors, and can replace traditional discrete Hall switches.
03
Considerable Practical Features Substantially Lower Overall Equipment Debugging Costs
Independent hardware alarm outputs for MGH (Magnetic Field High) and MGL (Magnetic Field Low) with customizable magnetic thresholds. The chip automatically triggers level alerts in case of magnet misalignment, abnormal air gap or high-temperature demagnetization of magnets, proactively preventing equipment jamming and positioning failure.
3.Flexible Customization of Zero Position and Rotation Direction
The 16-bit high-precision zero offset register allows setting any angle as the mechanical zero position. It supports switching between clockwise and counterclockwise angle increment modes to adapt to various motor mounting orientations without mechanical modifications during commissioning.
04
Available in Two Packages to Support Flexible Hardware Design & Component Selection
QFN-16L(3×3mm)
Fully functional pins are brought out, including SPI, ABZ, UVW and magnetic field alarm pins. With complete functions, the device is suitable for servo and closed-loop motor projects with sufficient PCB space and demand for multi-channel signal outputs.
SOP-8(4.9×6mm)
Compact package with only basic SPI communication retained. It features lower cost and smaller form factor, ideal for angle detection devices that only require absolute angle reading via SPI without ABZ/UVW outputs.
Mature reference circuits are provided. A 200 Ω current-limiting resistor can be connected in series with ABZ/UVW outputs; a 10 kΩ pull-up resistor is optional for SPI. Minimal peripheral components help reduce BOM cost.
